Houston Elementary School does not provide school bus transportation, but Metrorail and Metrobus are convenient options. Through the
Kids Ride Free program, students with the Kids Ride Free SmarTrip card can ride Metrorail and Metrobus to and from school for free from 5:30 AM to 9:00 AM and from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Houston Elementary is located near the Deanwood Metro Rail Station (Orange Line). The following bus lines stop near Houston: R2, U4, U7, V4, W4.
Students may walk, bike, or skateboard to school. Students who choose to bike should wear a helmet, and bring a bike lock to secure their bike during the school day. Parents and guardians are also welcome to drop-off students.
